Case studies

Seven clients, and what came out of each one.

Every number here was read from the client's own account. Nothing rounded up, nothing modelled. The approaches that did not work are in here too, because those are the ones that tell you how we spend a budget.

Texline Trailers

Website, configurator, dealer portal and sales automation · trailer manufacturer

What we built

The public website, a build-your-own configurator so a buyer can specify the exact trailer they want, and a dealer portal where dealers order trailers from the factory, track each order through the build, and list their own stock on the Texline website themselves. Three jobs that used to mean a phone call to the factory and a spreadsheet emailed back.

The assistant

The newest piece answers messages in seconds with real answers priced from the live catalogue, then writes the lead into the portal with everything it learned attached. The advertising started 61 conversations in the last thirty days and 56 got an answer; every one of those used to wait on somebody being free to write it. In its first six days the assistant created 52 leads, against the 49 the website produced in the previous twelve weeks.

Where it landed

101 leads in the system and 299 quotes generated. The qualifying, pricing and chasing that used to eat the day now happens before anyone picks up the phone.

Homes by Noble

Custom home builder and remodeler · Longview and Tyler, Texas

The situation

Homes by Noble builds custom houses for the families who are going to live in them, and nobody picks a builder off a web page. They call first, and they decide whether they trust the person on the other end. Almost every enquiry here arrives by phone, so the work is judged on whether the phone rings.

What we run

Two separate lead campaigns, running continuously since the day we started. One goes after custom home builds, the other after remodeling. Two different buyers, two different sets of words, two budgets, rather than one campaign averaging them together.

The first year

More than 250 enquiries across twelve months, roughly twenty a month through a full cycle of seasons, plus 212 submissions through the website form. The most recent ninety days produced sixty-seven, so a year in the engine is running slightly faster than it did at the start rather than fading. Around eighty-five percent of them come in as phone calls.

ProCut Tree Service

Tree removal, trimming and stump grinding · Campbell, Texas

The situation

Tree work is weather and emergency driven. A limb comes down on a Tuesday and that person calls three companies in ten minutes, so being reachable at the moment somebody searches is most of the job.

What we run

Lead generation aimed at people searching for tree work in the towns ProCut actually serves. The crew gets the call directly, and every enquiry is recorded with the job the person asked for.

Where it landed

185 leads across twelve months, an average of sixteen a month held through every season, plus 42 submissions through the website. The most recent ninety days produced fifty-three, so a year in it is running ahead of its own average rather than tailing off.

Hood Landscape Solutions

Landscape design, retaining walls and grading · Sulphur Springs, Texas

The situation

Landscaping in a rural county is seasonal and word of mouth carries a lot of it. The problem with word of mouth is that it does not scale when you need it to, and it goes quiet exactly when you need it most.

What we ran

Lead generation across Hopkins County and the towns around it, aimed at the work Hood actually does: landscape design, retaining walls, driveway and walkway paving, grading and resloping.

Where it landed

Forty-four leads in seven months, an average of six a month, from eleven towns and counties, plus 39 submissions through the website. Thirty-nine of the forty-four came in as phone calls. When the crew got booked out the advertising came off, so the work in hand got finished properly. It switches back on the week they have room.

Four State Mulching

Forestry mulching and land clearing · Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma

The situation

A land clearing crew working a rural four-state corner. Demand is real but thin, and thin demand punishes the wrong approach hard: an automated one never gathers enough information to learn from, so it spends the budget guessing.

What we built

The website first, then the campaign pointed at it, so the ads and the pages make the same promise in the same words. An automated approach was already running when we arrived, so we let both run through the same ninety days and compared what came out.

Where it landed

Twelve leads from the campaign we built. Three from the one it replaced. We stopped the one that lost and moved the budget behind the one that worked. That is why we ran both instead of picking one and hoping.

Reliable Tree Service

Tree removal and land clearing · Grand Saline and Fruitvale, Texas

The situation

A tree and land clearing crew covering a wide stretch of East Texas from a small base. The work arrives without warning: a tree comes down and whoever answers first usually gets the job.

What we ran

Lead generation aimed at people searching for tree removal and trimming in the towns the crew actually drives to. Calls go straight through rather than into a queue.

Where it landed

Eleven leads in the first twelve days, across ten towns from Canton and Lindale to Emory and Wills Point. This is the shortest run on this page and we put it here on purpose. These numbers cover the first thirty days after launch, so it is an opening rate rather than a track record, and at nearly a lead a day it is a good one to open on.

Goforth Custom Builders

Custom home builder · Hallsville and Longview, Texas

The situation

Money was leaving the advertising account every month and nothing recorded whether a single enquiry had come from it. He was paying every month with no way to tell which half of it was working.

What we built

Measurement from scratch, so an enquiry is recorded once and can be traced back to what the person was looking for. Three landing pages, one for each way people look for a custom home, and a campaign pointed at them.

Where it landed

Seventeen enquiries through the website since we started, eight of them traced directly to the campaign we built. We also cleared eight bot submissions out of that inbox, so the number he sees is the number that matters. These are the first ninety days after launch, so it is an opening quarter rather than a settled account.

How we treat your budget

We spend your ad money like it's ours.

  • We turn things off. When something stops earning its place we pause it, even when leaving it running would make this page look better. Two of the stories above are exactly that.
  • Every lead traces back to what the person actually searched for, so you can see what your money bought rather than take our word for it.
  • Sometimes the answer is spend less. We have told clients to fix three pages instead of raising a budget, and one to stop advertising for a while because they could not keep up with the work.
  • What you spend stays between us. Budgets and cost per lead are your competitive information, so they are not on this page, and yours would not be either.
