Case study · Website, dealer portal, configurator and sales automation · trailer manufacturer
Texline Trailers · gooseneck and bumper pull trailer manufacturer · Texas
A public site, a build-your-own configurator, a dealer portal where dealers order and track their trailers, and an assistant that answers messages and turns them into quotes.
A trailer manufacturer selling through a dealer network. Every dealer holds different stock, every buyer wants a different build, and every enquiry used to need a person to price it. That is three bottlenecks in one business, and all of them land on the same few people.
The public website first. Then a build-your-own configurator, so a buyer can specify the trailer they actually want, see what it costs, and send that exact build through as an enquiry instead of a vague message.
Then the dealer portal, which turned out to be the biggest piece. A dealer signs in and orders new trailers from the factory directly. They watch each order move through the build, so they know what is coming and when instead of ringing to ask. And they list their own stock on the Texline website themselves, which appears on the inventory pages automatically.
Three things that used to be phone calls, emails and spreadsheets now happen on the dealer's own screen at whatever hour suits them. Nobody at Texline retypes an order from a phone call, and the inventory pages stop showing a trailer the day it sells.
Every enquiry, wherever it starts, lands in one place with the build attached: what they configured, which dealer, what it prices at. The sales side stopped hunting for context.
The newest piece answers messages. Somebody asks about a trailer and it replies in seconds with real answers, priced from the live catalogue rather than a script: specs, options, warranty, which dealer is nearest. When the conversation is ready it writes the lead into the portal with everything it learned attached. If a human steps in, it stands down on that thread automatically.
In its first six days it handled 500 messages and created 52 leads. The website and configurator produced 49 over the previous twelve weeks. It produced more in under a week than the site did in three months, and it works at two in the morning.
101 leads in the system and 299 quotes generated. The part that matters is not the totals but what a person now does with them: the qualifying, pricing and chasing that used to eat the day happens before anyone picks up the phone.
The advertising does the reaching. Over the last thirty days it put Texline in front of 14,242 people and started 61 conversations with them. Fifty-six of those got an answer, and twelve people went all the way through to a written enquiry on their own.
Before the assistant, every one of those fifty-six answers waited on somebody being free to write it. Conversations that started at nine at night got answered the next morning, by which point the buyer had usually asked somebody else too.
The assistant creates leads at about nine a day and the rate is still climbing: twenty-one on its fifth day, twenty on its sixth. Held at that pace, a full month lands somewhere near 250 leads, against the 49 the website produced across twelve weeks.
That is a projection off six days, not a month anyone has banked, and we would rather write it that way than round it into a promise. The real number exists in thirty days and we will publish that one instead.
